Paula’s voice and dynamic stage presence allows her to sing and teach powerfully in the styles of R&B, Gospel, Jazz, Pop, Musical Theatre and Rock. A veteran of the music industry for over 20 years, Paula’s credentials and the success of her students have made her one of the top vocal coaches in North America. Paula was head vocal and performance coach on Y.T.V.’s #1 hit reality show ‘The Next Star’, vocal coach and artist developer for Arrival Music in association with Sony Music Canada, and is currently the vocal coach to Jenna Weir who is the lead in the Broadway musical ‘Frozen’.

 

Paula is a classically trained singer and a graduate from The University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She is also a certified Specialist of Vocal Styles from The Berklee College of Music. As a leading international expert in vocal training, Paula is the Professor of Vocal Studies at Seneca College and has created a one-of-a-kind curriculum that is the first Pop, R&B, Contemporary vocal program accredited by a College or University in Canada.

 

Paula’s unique vocal methods have been recognized for producing amazing, fast and proven results! As the head vocal coach at the Grammy Award Winning studio Cherry Beach Sound, Paula is able to help celebrities and aspiring singers achieve their highest potential. Most of her students have gone on to have successful careers in Musical Theatre (Frozen, Matilda, Annie, Sound of Music, Les Misérables) and as recording artists in Europe, Canada and the US. Paula’s students have signed major recording, management, artist development and publishing contracts. These companies have signed and worked with Sia, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande. Her students have also worked with producers like L.A. Reid, Ludacris, Bryan-Michael Cox, and with labels like Warner Music, Universal, Motown Records, Capitol Records and Sony Music Entertainment.

 

Paula is best known for her beautiful and powerful voice, and has performed for Quincy Jones and Elton John, worked with Grammy award winners like Jill Scott and Arrested Development, sang with Juno Award nominee Mark Masri and was mentored by multi Juno award winner Liberty Silver. She has also been a featured vocalist at Roy Thompson Hall, The C.N.E., The Living Arts Centre, Massey Hall, Brampton Rose Theatre, The Liberty Grand, Toronto Centre for the Performing Arts, The Sony Centre and CBC Radio-Canada’s Glenn Gould Theatre.

 

Paula recently worked as a vocal consultant and artist developer for Savage Arts Entertainment based in L.A. and New York. Company credits include commercially successful artists; Coldplay, U2, White Lies, Sir Paul McCartney, Lenny Kravitz, Goldfrapp, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Mya and the Rolling Stones.
